This year Opera Talks will be held on the second Wednesday of the month from 6:45 to 8:00 p.m. with docents from the L. A. Opera sharing their insights. Here is the schedule for the year:
December 9 The Barber of Seville
January 13 A look at the Ring Cycle, LA Opera Style
February 10 Behind the Scenes in Opera
March 10 Gotterdammerung
April 14 The Stigmatized
May 12 A specialty talk to be announced.

On display above the magazine racks in the library are art pieces in various media that have been donated to the Friends. In the plastic box are portfolios of pictures. All of these are for sale with proceeds to be used to purchase more books and materials in the library. Prices range from $2.00 to $12.00 for these lovely pictures. Library policy prohibits putting a price on the pictures in the library but a price list with biographical material on the artists is available in the Used Bookstore.
